Blog for the New Year

Smugglers’ has one triple black diamond trail. It’s so steep I wouldn’t even hike down it in the summer! Yet my 13-year-old granddaughter whooped and hollered the whole length on her snowboard, loving every minute – a testament to the extra-ordinary record snowfall and trail conditions this December brought us. . . and probably what riding or skiing skills you can acquire when you start young and you keep at it! Last December it was green outside

Last December I was standing at my office window looking outside at nothing but green grass, and hearing nothing but silence. The warm weather trend had denied us natural snow and even silenced the woooosh of the snow guns we use to lay down the manmade stuff.
