Guided Hikes and Walks in the Green Mountains of Vermont
Mountain Adventures for all abilities!
Guided Walks, Wikes and Hikes are offered September 1 - October 13, 2008.
Daily, professionally-guided hikes, walks and wikes match your level of experience: walks are 1-2 hours of mild to moderate exercise on easy trails; wikes can be up to 3 hours of moderate exercise on more challenging trails; and hikes are as long as 6 hours of more vigorous mountain adventures. Join our skilled guides on the Where's the Bear Nature Wike or Trekkers' Intro Wike to really get to know Smugglers', the area's natural history and the out of the way trails.

If you have never been to Smugglers' Notch before, or it's been a long time, then this is the wike for you. Learn about the must-see areas of Smuggs while you explore the village and surrounding area. CLOSE Where's the Bear Wike Tues. 9:00 am
Learn about the variety of habitat that a black bear might use during a yearly, seasonal cycle, what types of plants and animals support these seasonal activities and why we hardly ever see bears. CLOSE Sterling Pond Hike Wed. 9:00 am

This walk offers you the opportunity to take in the surrounding area through your sense of touch, taste, smell and sound. CLOSE Where Does the Water Go? Thursday, 1:00 pm
Or more importantly, what's in the water and how can we clean it up? Learn about what happens when rain becomes runoff, and how it can pose a threat to the environment. Smugglers' has a wide variety of natural stormwater treatment systems throughout the Resort, and this guided walk will visit many of them. Led by Smugglers' environmental staff, this 1-1/2 hour walk is great for both adults and kids. CLOSE Mount Mansfield West Hike Fri. 9:00 am
Strap on your hiking boots from this challenging climb to the highest peak in Vermont. When the summit is attained, vistas of New York, New Hampshire, Lake Champlain and perhaps even Canada may be seen! This is the most strenuous hike on the menu, twice the size of Sterling Pong hike, so come prepared. CLOSE Family Maple Walk Sat. 9:00 am
