Take some time out from the summer sun to dabble in the arts. Specially designed, hands-on workshops help you create your own art and craft projects to enjoy for years to come. Local artists provide instruction and all the materials needed to complete your project.

A fun and skills-building workshop for anyone ages 9 & older. You will go home with your own hand-made beautiful creation!

In this workshop taught by local jewelers Silvio Mazzarese & Teresa Bobel you will learn the basics of jewelry fabrication by making three rings; one each of sterling silver, copper, and brass. They will be shaped, soldered, filed, and stamped. Meet at the Vermont Jewelry School on Iris Lane in Cambridge, located only 3.5 miles from Smugglers' Notch Resort. A minimum of 2 people are needed for the class to run.

Outdoor Painting and Drawing

$50 per person
Enjoy an afternoon in the great outdoors making art. Join local teaching artists Natasha Bogar and Leslie Montalto in exploring landscape painting and drawing. Play with watercolor pencils, pastels, or paint to record the natural world around you.

Children 9 & under will need an adult chaperone. All supplies are included. Class minimum 4 people. Class meets in the FunZone 2.0 Party Room before moving outdoors. In case of rain, we'll stay inside. Be prepared for the outdoors with a sunhat, sunscreen, bug spray & water bottle.
Explore various media as we sketch and draw inside the Artists in the Mountains room at the Morse Highlands Day Lodge. We will use pencil, charcoal, inks and more. No experience or particular skills necessary. Ages 10 & older. All materials included. Includes an artist quality sketchbook and pencil to take home.

In this workshop you'll spend a half-hour indoors learning the basics of how the paints work, then we'll head outdoors. Please bring a water bottle and a bag or backpack (if you have them). We will stay within a quarter mile of the art building, but wear walking shoes. Ages 12 & older. All materials as well as a painting stool are provided.

Acrylic painting for anyone who has considered painting but didn't think they could, or for artists who wish to increase their creativity. Primary colors are explored, along with composition and play. Each person will be pleased to bring home a painting at the end of this 2 1/2-hour session. Ages 12 & older.

Explore your creative side as you develop natural forms into clay images in the three-dimensional art form. Nancy Schade leads you in clay modeling, learning the properties of various clays and forming clay into a piece that can be finished. Take home a complete sculpture. Ages 12 & older.
