Professional Disc Golf Association

It’s a pretty good feeling to see our beautiful Green Mountain Championship stamp (designed by Matt Marro) flashing the screen on PDGA’s website.  If you haven’t heard already, Brewster Ridge is hosting Vermont’s premier B-Tier tournament this weekend, August 31-September 1.  Our course will be graced with the world’s best, such as Nikko Locastro, Steve Brinster, Avery Jenkins, Ricky Wysocki, Nate Doss, Val Jenkins, Cale Leiviska, and Paul Oman.  Even if you find some excuse not to participate in the tourney, consider coming out and watching some of the greatest.

Along with the tournament, Fiddlehead Brewery  is hosting a Music & Microbrew event on Saturday night, August 31.  Join us for some tasty beer and awesome music from Conscious Roots and Tall Grass Get Down.  Hope to see everyone there!

The Green Mountain Championship

sponsored by Fiddlehead Brewery

1st Annual Disc Golf Tournament at Smuggs’ Brewster Ridge Disc Golf Course set to bring in over 100 golfers.

Brewster Ridge Disc Golf has enjoyed a great 1st half to the summer in its first full year of operation and now they are hosting a BIG tournament at the end of this month.  The 2-day Green Mountain Championship kicks off Saturday, August 31st and features a “Final 9″ (9 holes to determine the winner) on Sunday that will be great for spectators to watch.  From Saturday to Sunday, 63 holes of disc golf will be played (spectators welcome for FREE) and the top 4 players will then be showcased over 9 holes to determine the winner.  A world champion (Avery Jenkins), along with other touring professional disc golfers are slated to play, so get ready for some of the most amazing disc golf you can imagine.  Vermonters are encouraged to come watch or play!

For locals interested in playing, there are advanced, intermediate, and recreational divisions that folks are encouraged to sign up for.  All the information on the event can be found on brewsterridgediscgolf.com.  Any amateur players that sign up will receive a free disc and other prizes, as this event is sponsored by many local businesses.  Sign up today at the website!”

Paired with this tournament is an event titled “Music and Microbrews” set to begin at 8pm on Saturday night.  The event is sponsored by local Vermont Brewery – Fiddlehead – and will cost about $20 to attend (final price pending).  Smuggs is lining up a few of the best local bands to play some music while Fiddlehead opens its tap lines for samples of a variety of their delicious brew.  Your entry fee gets you 4 free samples, food, and some great music!  This event is open to all, so even if you’re not playing or watching the tournament, come on up to enjoy the evening.

For any businesses out there that want to get involved in this event, there are still a few sponsorship opportunities available, but they are filling up quickly so act fast.  Contact Jeff Spring at jspring@smuggs.com or 802-730-6397.

To register for the tournament or to buy a ticket to the Music & Microbrew event, go to brewsterridgediscgolf.com and follow the links to the event, where registration is open and tickets are available.  As always, you can head up to Brewster Ridge Pro Shop for a round anytime, with relaxed group rounds happening Friday at 5:30pm and Sundays at 1:00pm.  See you on the course!
