Adventure Rangers Camp
Regular price $85 per person per day. Adventure Rangers daily programs are INCLUDED for those children paid to be on the FamilyFest or Adventure Connection Vacation Package. SimplySmuggs Package guests take 25% OFF when pre-registered prior to arrival.

Adventure Camp Activities

Adventure & Games Minor (click for details)
Meeting location: Adventure Tent on the Village Green
Monday — Recreational Games
Campers will participate in an assortment of get-to-know-you games, tag games, and other active games that will help promote team unity.

Tuesday — Air & Field
Campers will play games which include a variety of recreational balls, and anything that flies through the air. Campers will also have an opportunity to work together to maneuver through an adventure obstacle course.

Wednesday — Bootleggers' Basin
Campers will travel from the Village down to Bootleggers' Basin. There they will enjoy a fun-filled day of swimming, volleyball games, and field games. Bring a bag lunch or purchase one from our lunch program.

Thursday — Low Ropes
Campers will journey to our Low Ropes Challenge courses located deep in the woods. The group will work together through the challenging low ropes course.

Friday — Adventure Race
All Adventure Rangers will meet at the Adventure Tent on Fridays
to be divided into Adventure Race teams. Throughout the day each group will have to accomplish five different adventure events, including a road block (lunch) and a pit stop (swim time). At the end of the day results will be announced. The race will enable campers to meet campers from other minors and incorporate tasks from Adventure & Games, Nature & Hiking, and Arts & Crafts.

Saturday & Sunday — Choose Your Adventure!
On weekends we combine all the minors so every camper will be able to choose from a variety of activities which may include parachutes, ice cream making, boat making, GPS tracking, nature hikes, field games and challenge games. This is a great chance for campers to experience all of our exciting minors so they can then choose a minor for the upcoming week or when they return next Summer.

Arts & Crafts Minor (click for details)
Meeting location: Adventure Tent on the Village Green
Monday — Journals
Create your own book to keep your Smugglers’ vacation memories.

Tuesday — Make Your Own Stuffed Toys
Turn, stuff, and decorate a doll or animal to be your own special friend or gift.

Wednesday — Bootleggers’ Basin
Try your hand at “gimp”, a traditional camp craft. Remember to wear sturdy shoes for the walk to Bootleggers. Bring a bag lunch or purchase one from our lunch program.

Thursday — Beads, Beads, Beads!
Projects may include making and stringing your own beads, fuse beads, or beady animals. Choices will vary by week.

Friday — Adventure Race

Monday — Meet the Cast
Get to know your other cast members and begin brainstorming your dance, song and or performance for the week.

Tuesday — Experiment & Explore
Start creating the dance, song or performance as a group.

Wednesday — Learn your Lines
Fine tune your performance and prepare for the Thursday show. Determine costume and back drop needs and create them as needed.

Thursday — Dress Rehearsal & Performance
Dress rehearsal, theme parade teaser performance at 3:30 pm. Finish the day with a performance at the
Vermont Country Fair at 5:00 pm.

Friday — Adventure Race

Nature & Hiking Minor (click for details)
Meeting location: Adventure Tent on the Village Green
Monday — Water Worlds
Campers will use our aquatic collecting equipment and Smuggs nature guides to discover and study the nature of our mountain ponds and streams.

Tuesday — Forest Quest
Campers will hike one of our many beautiful woodland trails and test their nature knowledge through challenging games.

Wednesday — Pebble Madness
One of our most popular activities – find as many different kinds of rocks as you can, and identify them using our special guides. Plus swim at Bootleggers’ Basin. Bring a bag lunch or purchase from our lunch program.

Thursday — Climb-it and Climate
This will be a big all-day hike on one of our challenging mountain trails, and will include some sky science such as cloud and weather identification using scientific instruments. Bring a bag lunch or purchase from our lunch program.

General Information:

Our activities are all CHALLENGE BY CHOICE. This means that if at any point one of the campers does not feel comfortable with any activity, he/she can either step aside and observe, or counselors may help him/her to find a more comfortable way to be a part of the group, without doing the specific activity.

Children in Adventure Rangers programs are grouped by ages 7-8 & 9-10 years. Child to Counselor Ratio 1:10. You'll be grouped by age and be given the opportunity to tailor your experience at Smuggs based upon your own interests.

Parents Please Note: Our counselors will include your children in our Children's Program Lunch if they do not bring their lunch or if prior arrangements for their lunch have not been made. A charge of $6.75 per child, per lunch, will be automatically posted to your credit card. The lunch buffet includes:

Sunday: Tacos, taco fixings with taco beef, Mexican rice, penne pasta with marinara sauce.
Monday: Grilled cheese, veggie burger, broccoli florets, penne pasta with marinara sauce.
Tuesday: Penne pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs, broccoli florets, garlic bread.
Wednesday: Hamburger, veggie burger, corn, mashed potato, penne pasta with marinara sauce.
Thursday: Cheese quesadillas, chicken quesadillas, quesadilla toppings, penne pasta with marinara sauce.
Friday: Pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza, penne pasta with marinara sauce.
Saturday: Homemade macaroni and cheese, broccoli florets, veggie burger, penne pasta with marinara sauce.

Daily offerings include: Tossed salad, carrots, celery, assorted Summer salads, whole fruit, soy butter & jelly sandwich, pudding, Jell-O, applesauce, and mandarin oranges.

Beverages: Water, lemonade, milk, chocolate milk.

• Sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes should be worn. NO SANDALS allowed.
• You should be dressed for an active outdoor day, including sweatshirt, light jacket or raincoat if needed.
• Please label all of your belongings.

Adventure Rangers Overnight Hike (click for details)
Ages 7 - 10, Wednesday 5:00 pm
Meets at the Notch Squad Tent
Come spend a night with your favorite Adventure counselors and new friends at the Madonna Base Lodge.
Activities include dinner, games, a movie, entertainment, a campfire and continental breakfast in the morning. Each participant will recieve a FREE t-shirt. Sleeping bags are provided. Please bring pillow, pjs, warm sweater or sweatshirt and any special snacks. Campers are dropped off at the Welcome Sign at 7:30 am the following morning. Sign up at the Guest Service Desk by 12:00 noon on Wednesday.

$49 first child, $40 each additional child in family. Additional child rate applies only to children on the same reservation.

Junior Tennis Camp (click for details)

Learn or improve technique, develop tennis strategies and of course play games!

Groups will be created based on ability levels and instructors will put the fun in the FUNdamentals of tennis. This 3-day program includes:

Skateboard Camp (click for details)
For ages 9 - 17 years.
Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Do you have the desire but are lacking the skills? This 2-day Skateboard Camp will help get you in tune. Focus on the fundamentals of balance, position, stopping, falling techniques and skating safety or learn new tricks.

Day two will find you headed for an afternoon of ollies and rails at an off-site skate park. Camp includes skilled instruction, individual skill assessment, video analysis, lunch and pool time. Helmet and pads required. All equipment provided if needed. Transportation provided for 2nd day field trip. Skateboard Camp will be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Golf Programs for Kids

Junior Intro to Golf — Open to ages 5 - 17.
This clinic is an introduction to the sport with a focus on the fundamentals, golf etiquette, beginning to swing, the importance of safety and FUN!

Tennis Lessons for Kids

Beginner - Intermediate Junior Clinic — Open to ages 9 - 15.
This clinic is designed for those players who have never played, have played very little, or could just use some extra work on the FUNndamentals of tennis. Tennis racquet provided if needed.
Monday & Friday, 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, $21 per youth advanced registration recommended.

Early Risers Clinic — Open to ages 5 - 8.
Young tennis enthusiasts, come explore the game of tennis with foam balls and fun play emphasizing fundamental skills and hand-eye coordination. Beginners welcome, equipment provided. This clinic will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Skateboard Clinics for Kids

Skate Clinic Level 1
Ages 7-18, Monday 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm & Tuesday 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm & Thursday 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Learn the basics of skateboarding and skateboarding safety in this kids only clinic. Learn balance and body position to gain comfort rolling and skating over changing terrain. Equipment provided. One and one half hour clinic. $30 per person.

Skate Clinic Level 2
Ages 7-18, Monday 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm & Thursday 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Take your skating up a notch in this hour and a half clinic. Learn the basics of skating ramps and features and the how to's of performing flat ground tricks in the Smuggs skate park. Previous skateboard experience is requried. Equipment provided. Limited space available, advance registration required. $30 per person.

Skate Clinic Level 3
Ages 7-18, Thursday 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Learn to master tricks and ramps and ride the whole skate park. Get ready to take your skating to the next level. Previous skateboard experience is requried. Equipment provided. Limited space available, advance registration required. $30 per person.

American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program

Do you have trouble fitting in swim lessons for your children in your busy Summer schedule? Now you can incorporate your child’s and adult swim lessons into your Summer vacation! As an American Red Cross Authorized Provider, Smugglers' offers Red Cross Learn-to-Swim classes for ages 5 through adult.

These classes provide instruction to help swimmers develop their swimming and water safety skills. The program is designed to give students a positive learning experience. Learn-to-Swim teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. There are six learn-to-swim levels. Each level builds on skills learned in the previous level. Children who have not participated in Red Cross lessons previously will be placed appropriately based on their current swimming skills. Classes will have a 1 instructor to 6 student teaching ratio. The Learn-to-Swim program will meet in the morning to permit children to participate in Summer Fun University for the rest of the day.

Offered Monday - Friday. Ages 5 - 15. Levels 1 & 2 meet 9:00 am - 9:30 am; levels 3 & 4 meet 8:15 am - 8:45 am; levels 5 & 6 meet 8:15 am - 9:00 am.

$80 for five 1/2 hour sessions level 1-4. $115 for five 45 minute sessions level 5 & 6.

Kids' Night Out

If your ideal Summer vacation includes a romantic dinner or an evening out socializing at one of our adult events, we offer Kids' Night Out at TREASURES. Kids enjoy dinner and fun activities, such as dodge ball, scavenger hunts and art projects with our caring staff. Your children, accompanied by our staff, will have the option of attending scheduled family evening entertainment. The evening closes with ice cream, popcorn and a movie.

Babysitting Services

Evening Babysitters:
TREASURES will help to arrange a private caregiver for evenings in your vacation home. Babysitters will entertain your children at home with games and stories, or take them to evening family activities if you wish.

A non-refundable $10 finders fee per babysitter is paid to TREASURES. A $12/hour, first child, $1/hour each additional child payment is made directly to babysitter for this service. Large groups of children will require multiple sitters. 48-hour advance reservations required, space available basis. Once we have confirmed your babysitter, changes in arrival time of the sitter may not be feasible. Call 802-644-1193 to make your arrangements for babysitters.
