Having points w/ you guys is great! I have already been able to use my 'off' weekas points and come back in the summer. No guess work: 'Am I going to get the week I
want'; 'How long should I wait' etc.. I immediately knew what was available andbooked it! It is FANTASTIC.
And if that wasn't enough I was able to book for 5 nights which is exactly what I needed. In previous years I would have wasted 2 days by swapping my 'week'.
Very glad you made this available.
thx
The Organs.
CLOSE Thus fas I have been able to use points to secure airline tickets to Denver for a previous swapped week and I have secured an Orlando unit for a four day vacation over the Thanksgiving Day week-end. I am pleased with points so far.

CLOSE Hi -
I am really happy with the points system but have had some disappointments. The system fits our family lifestyle as we change. We can't go up for seven straight days any more. We went to Sunapee for a weekend and we are going to Smuggs next weekend (think snow!). We are also going to Smuggs x-mas week in 2007 for five days.
There have been some extra costs that I was not anticipating. First, the cost of housekeeping is steep. Second, it costs to book each time - $100+. Third, RCI charged us another membership fee on top of the one that was provided with you guys. I feel like everyone is trying to charge us at every turn and it doesn't feel good.
But I do really like the points system and the improvements sound like they will be great.

Hello Chris
Thanks for writing. It really is nice to hear you are able to get thekinds of vacations you and your family are looking for.As to your other comments - shorter stays do entail more housekeeping costs, and the industry does not want to charge the owner extra maintenance fees for something they have no control over. Six and seven day stays do not have any additional costs. I also took a look at your weeks account, and it looks like you have prepaid that for several years in advance. As part of the conversion, that was supposed to have been rolled over to your points account, and I think they missed it. You can call RCI and request that they roll those prepaid dues over, I understand it takes about two weeks to complete that process. That should take a little bit of the sting out of the fees. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Thanks again.

Dear Frank,
Wow! Thank you! Now that's what I call good customer service!
Seriously - we were hoping for points for a while and when the opportunitycame up we jumped on. It really is a lot more flexible.
Namaste,
Chris
CLOSE We haven't had our points for very long but long enough that we knew that time was closing in our summer reservations. Between going on line and plugging in dates and locations and speaking with RCI guides, I was able to use points (and one leftover week) to get two weeks back to back in Colorado in August '07. That used up 38,000 of our 165,500. A couple of days later, I was able to make reservations for a week in Virginia and a week in Vermont (unfortunately not Smuggs) for my son's honeymoon in July '07 using 27,000 and 29,500 points respectively. Next (and this is all within four days) I was able to get a week in St. Maarten in Feb. '08 for 58,000 pts. So for our two weeks of ownership at Smuggs I got 4 weeks(because one was a week exchange) and still have 12,500 points! The points we got for our Smuggs ownership really paid off. Next year we're back at Smuggs!!!
