Smugglers' Notch Resort presents the Gateway to Nature
A program promoting experiential learning about the natural world.
How can you get involved?
Collect building materials
Travel with Smugglers' program representatives to pick up materials of value to the construction process.
Build Gateway to Nature learning facilities
Assist Smugglers' program representatives with construction of a 16 x 16 foot pavilion, an 8 x 20 foot tool shed and a treehouse. The pavilion will be used for workshops and as a spot for hikers to stop and rest or eat a meal.
Cut and debark trees and saplings
Assist Smugglers' program representatives with efforts to fell trees for roof sheathing and building frames, and for rustic furniture for building and trail placement.
Build rustic furniture
Assist Smugglers’ program representatives with construction of rustic furniture for use in the Pavilion and along trails.
