Smugglers' Notch Vermont - Fact Sheets

Winter 2016-2017 Terrain Parks

Smugglers' Notch Resort offers terrain parks for all levels of ability.

On Madonna Mountain, a natural feature terrain park for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders at Smugglers' adds excitement to the Knight's Revenge glades between Lower Rumrunner and Lower Madonna Liftline. Freestyle riders in the glade will encounter log slides, quarter pipes, bank turns, rock jumps and much more as the park's features evolve with influence from Mother Nature.

Also on Madonna Mountain, Prohibition Park on the intermediate Playground trail features rails and jumps for intermediate skiers and riders.

On Sterling Mountain, Birch Run Terrain Park offers entry level and intermediate snowboarders and skiers the opportunity to test their skills when ready. The 1200-foot run covers two acres with table tops, rolls, rails, hits, and spines. The Zone on Sterling's Practice Slope features hits, rails and fun box for expert riders accessible via the Sterling t-bar.

On Morse Mountain, Log Jam Terrain Park is a novice terrain park on the Log Jam Trail at Morse Highlands, a pod of trails for novice skiers and riders with its own lift. The wide trail, with snowmaking, features plenty of space and a long run for rails and hits.

At Smugglers', young snowboarders have their very own learning and play park. In partnership with Vermont's Burton Snowboards, Smugglers' offers the Burton Riglet Park, an on-snow play area with fun terrain features designed for introducing young children to snowboarding in an all-day camp for 3-6 year olds. The park's focal point is a "treehouse," an elevated platform with ramps that children can ride, a balance area inside the treehouse and a lift chair that swings to help kids practice getting on and off the lift. Playing in the park on small rolling hills, miniature box-style rails, pyramids and a mini-halfpipe allows children to gain the necessary balance and muscle memory to begin sliding and making turns on sloped terrain. The Riglet Park is co-located with a two acre on-snow learning playground serving young skiers and riders ages 3-6 on the Village Green.
