Smugglers' Notch Resort is #1 Kid Friendly Resort in the Eastern U.S. & Canada in annual SKI Magazine Top 50 Resorts rankings
Smugglers' Notch Resort was ranked the #1 Kid-Friendly Resort in the Eastern U.S. and Canada in the 2015/2016 SKI Magazine resort survey completed by the magazine's readers.
"Our decades long commitment to family fun has always included responding to the interests of our youngest guests," observes Smugglers' managing director Bill Stritzler. "From our innovative ski or snowboard instructional programs for children as young as 2 1/2 to our indoor FunZone filled with inflatable bouncy houses and obstacle courses, kids find plenty of exciting choices on their family's winter vacation." Smugglers' offers a Family Fun Guarantee ensuring that anyone trying a Smugglers' program who does not have fun will receive a refund of the program's fee.
Smugglers' also received top 10 rankings among Eastern resorts for service, value, lodging, and off hill activities. SKI readers also recognized the challenge and variety of the resort's terrain with top 10 rankings in those categories, plus top 10 rankings for snow, grooming and terrain parks. Smugglers’ three mountains and 78 trails feature 1000 acres of terrain for all abilities, from the novice skiers and riders enjoying Morse Mountain's gentle runs to the extreme experts taking on Madonna Mountain's gnarly double and triple black diamond Fab Five trails. Six terrain parks offer a progression from the entry level Log Jam and Riglet parks to the big hits in the Zone.
Recently, three consecutive seasons' worth of snowmaking investments have demonstrated Smugglers' continuing commitment to providing a customer-pleasing ski & ride experience. The resort's snowmaking fleet totaling 450-plus guns is fully converted to high efficiency snow guns. Recent snowmaking enhancements allow more snow to be made at a wider temperature range, improving early and late season coverage with greatly reduced energy costs. A new $3 million water pipeline ensures water availability for snowmaking while meeting environmental stewardship benchmarks.
Smugglers' winter packages offer families flexibility to match packages to their vacation interests and budget requirements with choices ranging from a ski and stay package to a package including on-snow instruction for all ages and abilities. Each package features family-pleasing inclusions such as mountainside condominium lodging; lift tickets; daytime and evening snow tubing; ice skating; use of the indoor pool and hot tub, Nordic skiing and snowshoe terrain, indoor FunZone with climbing inflatables, and teen centers; and family and adult entertainment.
