Snow showers with breaks of sun

It was a wild weather day. It was supposed to be cloudy with snow showers all day, but the sun decided to make a few cameos. The on-and-off snow showers did add up with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation in the past 24 hours. There is more snow in the forecast for tonight with another 4 to 8 inches possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow showers early then partly sunny skies later with a high of 30 degrees at the base and 23 degrees at higher elevations. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna 1 Lift. We have 54 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 35 trails will be groomed for tonight, including Snake Bite, Dixie’s Knoll, and skier’s right on Upper FIS for a total of 132 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 10 to 36 inches. The overnight snowfall should give us some powder conditions tomorrow! Currently, it is 24 degrees at the summit of Sterling with light snow. We have some colder temperatures coming at us this week and we plan to fire up our snowmaking guns on Morse Mountain. We plan to make snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
