Another day in paradise

It stopped snowing, and the sun came out. I skied today with a little rat pack filled with friends and family. We started the day on Morse and worked our way over to the upper mountains. On Sterling, it was Harvey’s Hideaway and Full Nelson that were our favorites. For Madonna, everyone enjoyed Upper FIS, Doc Dempsey’s Glades, Bermuda, Mustache, and The Shire. To be honest, you could not go wrong, because everything was good today! The visibility today was fantastic, and the summit of Madonna was the place to be. We hung out at the top of Madonna for a while, soaking up the sunshine and amazing views in every direction. Tomorrow should be a repeat of today with little warmer temperatures. We have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift for tomorrow. We have 75 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 34 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Garden Path, Smugglers’ Alley, and skier’s right on Upper FIS. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 14 to 40 inches. Currently, it is sunny and 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 37 degrees at the base and 32 degrees at higher elevations.

Free refills

We received 11 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 39 inches in the past week. I had an absolute blast skiing with some family and friends today. We did FIS from the very top next to the warming hut, which does not open very often. Freefall from the top was fantastic this morning and with all the new snow during the day, it was great this afternoon also. Docs, Alley Woods, Moustache Woods, and Madonna Liftline were also big hits today. The conditions are spectacular! We have more snow in the forecast with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible tonight. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies, breezy, with a high of 24 degrees at the base and 20 degrees at higher elevations. We have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating.
