Lunch on the Black Bear Patio with the Cohens. Barry is a big fan of the Hot Chocolate and Anna and Jade like the Chipotle Tomato soup.

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. I spent day 2 skiing with my friends the Cohens from Philadelphia, PA. I met them 15 years ago during their summer week at Smuggs. Then we skied together when they came up the following winter and just about every winter since. We’ve also enjoyed Smuggs events together like the Top of Notch Snowshoe Dinner, Marko’s Magic Shows, and Goodtime Charlie shows. They are proud long-time Smugglers. On my way to meet them I saw another long-time Smuggler, Anna Willis. In the past 8 years, she’s worked in several departments.

Jade

Anna

Long-time Smuggler Anna Willis has worked at Treasures Child Care, the Country Store, and now she’s a LIFTIE! Not only that, she’s been skiing and riding here for 15 years (that’s over two thirds of her life).

Smugglers’ Notch Resort 7:00 pm – 1:00 am

  • 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm • The Friendly Pirate’s New Year’s Eve Party Join the Friendly Pirate, Mogul Mouse & Billy Bob Bear for singing and dancing in the lower level of the Meeting House!
  • 9:00 pm • New Year’s Celebration Bonfire, Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Gather with family and friends at the Gazebo and celebrate! Hosted by Goodtime Charlie.
  • Following fireworks until 11:00 pm • Goodtime Charlie’s Musical Time Machine Goodtime Charlie plays the greatest hits of all time as you dance your way into 2019. Fun for the whole family, with party favors and a cash bar. Lower level of the Meeting House.
  • Following fireworks until Midnight • Adult Karaoke Sing in the New Year to all your karaoke favorites — Bootleggers’ will be bouncin’! Don’t miss the champagne toast!

Complimentary party favors will be given out at all events at 11:00 pm.

Sam’s Run

Snowmaking at the intersection of Sam’s Run and Dixie’s Knoll. You can see the snowmaking guns lining the trails.

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh.  The Snowmaking Crew has recently been busy on Morse Mountain – the Morse Highlands will see trails opening soon! Skiing on Garden Path and Sam’s Run, I saw the snowguns a-blazin’. These efforts, along with the record natural snowfall, sets us up nicely for the holidays.

 

Here’s an assessment from that ridin’, slidin’ snowboard man Mike Chait: “How much snow fell last night? Well, as the old saying goes, ‘Hard tellin’ not knowin’!’ Winds caused some havoc on the hill. We’re calling it 5 inches. Could be more. Definitely not less.”

 

 

Bootleggers

Bootleggers’ Lounge hosts nightly events like the Acoustic Trio, which became the Acoustic Quartet last night. Left to Right: Eli – awesome guitarist, Topher – sitting in on mandolin, the incomparable Jammin’ Sam and Downpour & Smuggs legend Goodtime Charlie (49 years at the Resort and still going strong).

But Smuggs is about so much more than skiing and riding. Our Activities department has many offerings like STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) programs, Tubing, Airboarding, Fireworks, Hot Chocolate at the daily Bonfire, Bingo, Karaoke, and the most excellent live music.
