HOOP – there it is

Hoop there it is

The Discovery Course at the Cookie Race on Sir Henry’s on Morse Mountain at Smuggs in Vermont, USA, indeed.

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. All week long, vacationing kids make their parents jump through hoops. At the COOKIE RACE its payback time – kids ski through hoops and around gates for their parents pleasure. Thanks to our Wyndham friends, all the kids get a cookie at the finish line. I have a jolly good time announcing the race as my alter-ego Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate. Bruce from smuggsphoto.com is also on hand to take photos of all the racers. The Cookie Race on Sir Henry’s is a long standing Thursday tradition at Smuggs. Elsewhere on Morse Mountain, I was bouncin’ on the bumps of Upper Morse Liftline, navigating the glades of Whitetail Woods and cruisin’ down Garden Path. For intermediates and experts who are on Morse because a family member or friend is a beginner, know that there are blue-squares and black-diamonds on the green-circle side of the Resort. So, you can HOOP it up on Morse!

Nordic Ninjas

DSC03978 (1)The Smugglers’ Notch Nordic Centered hosted the Smuggs Nordic Ninjas today. The Nordic Ninjas is a fun obstacle course event for kids ages 6-12 on cross country skis or snowshoes. There were hoops, rollers, a teeter totter, fun boxes, flags, and poles that the kids had to get through. This was a great way for kids to get outside, have fun and also get some exercise. The atmosphere was very festive. PK, Zeke, the Friendly Pirate, and everyone else at the Nordic Center did a wonderful job with this kid friendly event. We have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We received 2 inches on new snow today and 16 inches in the past week. We are also expecting another 7 inches of new snow by Tuesday night. 170 acres of freshly groomed terrain for Monday.

Family Fun on Morse

Dec. 8, 2013 Hannah

I was out skiing with my daughter Hannah and son Hugh B. this afternoon. We were riding the Mogul Mouse Magical Lift and skiing Lower Morse Liftline. The Mogul Mouse Lift is user friendly for kids! The chair is lower for loading to make it easier for the children to get into. We had  a blast doing laps. The lift staff is also very nice and helpful.

Beginner Terrain

Dec2BeginnerTerrainI want to thank our snow makers for all their hard work! It is wonderful to have beginner terrain open this early in the season. The magic carpet is easy and fun to use. This weekend we had the whole Johnson family at Sir Henry’s Learning and Fun Park. My 2 year old daughter Hayleigh kept saying “fun” and “again”.
