Season Pass & Badge Holder Appreciation Party — We are going big this year for you, to properly kick off the Winter season, and say thanks to our valued 2017/18 Season Pass & Badge holders for making us #1 OVERALL in the Eastern U.S. and Canada we have planned a day full of fun events, 11:00 am - 6:00 pm, at the NEW FunZone 2.0! Pass & Badge holders will enjoy food, live entertainment, prizes, and get their pass photos taken!

10th Annual Barn Bash. Join Backcountry Magazine, Smugglers' Notch Resort, and Union Bank, VT & NH, for the 10th annual Barn Bash and Raffle on Saturday, November 4, 2017! The show starts at 7:00 pm, doors open at 6:30 pm at our NEW LOCATION, the Cambridge Community Center. Live music, food, drink (provided by Rock Art Brewery), movies and HUGE GEAR RAFFLE. All proceeds to benefit Cambridge Rotary Winter Wellness Days. In our third Fall Line Film Festival, we’ll feature Backcountry Magazine’s own four-part Bound series. The Vermont Handcrafters' Holiday Fine Craft and Art Show — This showcase of fine art and crafts is a seasonal tradition in our area! At the Sheraton Conference Center on Route 2/Main Street in Burlington. 10:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Cambridge Area Rotary Ski, Ride & Winter Sports Sale — This Cambridge Area Rotary(CAR) FUNDraiser, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, is for the Winter Wellness Days at Smuggs and the Community Skating Rink. Over the past 9 years, CAR has worked with Backcountry Magazine, and their annual Barn Bash to raise funds for Winter Wellness Days at Smugglers' Notch for all Cambridge Elementary Sschool 4th – 6th graders. Two years ago we expanded this program to a full week of instruction and skiing due to the success of these two events. These fun-filled days include a snow sport lesson, lift ticket, and equipment rentals - at no cost to the students! Come on down even if you are not a big snow sport participant or looking to upgrade your hardware, for there will be loads of soft goods on hand too! There will be a full inventory of reasonably priced gloves, mittens, winter coats, pants, and more to choose from! Drop off items at Cambridge Elementary on Friday, November 17, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

23rd Annual BrewFest, Part 1 - You're in the right place — Vermont has the highest number of breweries per capita. Our BrewFest highlights some of our state's excellent breweries plus regional favorites and craft ciders. Enjoy samples from Sam Adams, Truly Spiked and Sparkling, Angry Orchard Cider, Blue Point, Goose Island, Shock Top, Citizens Cider, as well as Sierra Nevada, and Stella Artois breweries. If your tastes run closer to home, don't miss samples from Vermont's own Switchback, Traveler, Woodchuck Cider, Magic Hat, Shed, Otter Creek, Long Trail, Harpoon, Zero Gravity, and Von Trapp. More breweries are being added; stay tuned!

A DJ spins the tunes and the Mountain Grille puts on a tasty appetizer buffet. 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm in the Meeting House. Tickets are available at the door; $20 entry includes 8 samples, munchies, and a souvenir sampling glass. 21 & older, please. High School Slalom - All the North Country high schools will be in attendance. Lamoille High School hosts this event on the Sterling Mountain Practice Slope at Smuggs - their home mountain.

Sunday, January 21
Smugglers' Notch Ski & Snowboard Club - SNSC is hosting a U10 Giant Slalom. Come see the future of Vermont racing at its best. Athletes 7 to 9 years old battle it out on the Sterling Mountain Practice Slope. These young athletes in this USASA event are from all the Northern Vermont Councils of the VT Alpine Racing Association.

Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27
Saint Michael’s College Winter Carnival - The top NCAA alpine ski racers in the East will be at Smugglers' racing giant slalom on Jan 26th and slalom on Jan 27th beginning at 9:30 am on the Practice Slope. These college athletes are some of the best in the country, and you may see some of these names on the World Cup circuit and the US Ski Team. Colleges competing are Saint Michael's College, whose home mountain is Smugglers' Notch, and the University of Vermont, with one of the top Slalom skiers in the East, Taylor Wunsch, who is also a Smugglers' Notch Ski Club alumni. Other colleges competing are: Middlebury College, the University of New Hampshire, Boston College, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Bates College, St. Lawrence University, Plymouth State University, Colby-Sawyer College, Colby College, and Williams College.

USASA Boarder/Skier Cross - The Northern Vermont Tour of USASA is hosting a BX/SX at Smuggs. This is an exciting head to head race with high banked turns and jumps. Come check out the action on the Sterling Mountain Practice Slope. For more information go to usasa.org

Extreme Skiing Challenge - The Smugglers' Notch Ski and Snowboard Club hosts this fun event — an opportunity for junior and adult freeskiers to show their stuff on some of the most difficult terrain Smugglers' Notch has to offer! The course is planned for Sterling Mountain - Full Nelson to Practice Slope.

The Extreme Skiing Challenge is IFSA (18 yrs & under) and FWQ2* (19 yrs & older) sanctioned allowing Eastern skiers to garner ranking and seeding points in these competitive series. In addition, the Extreme Skiing Challenge is the 4th stop on the Ski The East Freeride Tour. $45 entry fee (includes t-shirt) and $39 lift ticket available. The field will be capped at 120 competitors.

Not participating? Why not come out to watch the action, 8:30 am - 11:30 am? As the competitors run the course, from Full Nelson to the Practice Slope, spectators can view from a roped off area.

Sunday, March 4
Extreme Skiing Challenge - The Smugglers' Notch Ski and Snowboard Club hosts this fun event — an opportunity for junior and adult freeskiers to show their stuff on some of the most difficult terrain Smugglers' Notch has to offer! The course is planned for the Madonna headwall, an ungroomed steep with a double fall line descent filled with cliffs, bumps, trees, chutes, and stumps. Competitors will be judged on line, control, fluidity, technique, and style.

The Extreme Skiing Challenge is IFSA (18 yrs & under) and FWQ2* (19 yrs & older) sanctioned allowing Eastern skiers to garner ranking and seeding points in these competitive series. In addition, the Extreme Skiing Challenge is the 4th stop on the Ski The East Freeride Tour. $45 entry fee (includes t-shirt) and $39 lift ticket available. The field will be capped at 120 competitors.

If taking on the headwall isn't your thing, why not come out to watch the action? As the competitors run the course on the headwall from just below Catwalk to just above Madonna midstation, the best seats in the house for watching the excitement will be on the Madonna summit lift. Spectators also can view from a roped off area at the Red Fox Glades near the finish area at the base of the Madonna headwall, easily accessed from midstation.

Sunday, March 11
Molly Fund Benefit Rail Jam - This special rail jam benefits the Molly Rowlee Fund, which supports families with children undergoing treatment for cancer. This is the fifth year at Smuggs for this event, and it promises to again be awesome - come out and have some fun and support this great cause! The good times include music, giveaways, and a raffle. Registration starts at 9:00 am at the Yurt in the parking lot 1, the Jam starts in the Zone Terrain Park at 11:00 am!

Saturday, March 31
