Gone Fishing

Join us for a thrilling three-hour fishing adventure to our “Secret Fishin’ Hole” led by experienced guides from The Fly Rod Shop. After a scenic walk along the river—where spotting White-tailed Deer, Moose, and Bald Eagles is common—our guide will cover spin fishing basics, including equipment, bait, and safety. Equipped with rods provided by the Shop, you’ll spread out along the riverbank to fish for species like Small-mouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseeds, Brown Bullhead, and Rainbow Trout. Our guides will be right there to assist and teach you the best fishing techniques.

Ready for some fishing fun? Here’s what you need to know: If you’re 15 or older, you’ll need a Vermont Fishing license, which you can easily grab at The Fly Rod Shop or online before your trip. Kids must be accompanied by a paying adult to join in on the adventure. And don’t forget, you’ll need to drive yourself to the Fly Rod Shop in Stowe at 2703 Waterbury Road. Just a heads up, this isn’t a fly fishing program, but it’s going to be a reel-y good time!
