Due to the pace of past tournament registrations, the GMC is happy to announce some qualifying options for 2017. Last year, the 300+ GMC field filled so fast, it broke DGU registration records! This season, the Disc Golf Pro Tour has implemented registration standards for all its events, which include two tiers of registration, the first starting at 970+ rated players in MPO. We are happy to follow these standards and are proud to be a part of the Tour. At Smugglers’ Notch Resort, we also value the strong New England passion for, and presence at, the GMC & Smuggs FallFest. Therefore, we are happy to announce the following qualifications for the GMC targeted to Regional players.
All players from the 2016 GMC that cashed will be included in tier 1 of 2017 registration. Invitations to register will be sent to any players under 970 that cashed at last year’s event.
In addition, we are happy to announce regional qualifying competition for the MPO & FPO divisions of the 2017 GMC! 8 NEFA/PDGA events will be selected (one in each New England state and New York & New Jersey) to serve as qualifiers to the 2017 GMC. Each event will get 3 MPO spots and one FPO spot to give out for the 2017 GMC to the best division scores from those participating in qualifying.
Lastly, we will be holding 6 MPO, 2 FPO, and 2 MPM spots for members of our local Green Mountain Disc Golf Club. Those spots will be distributed based on GMPS standings.
If you are running a 2017 NEFA/PDGA event in one of the 8 Northeastern states, and are interested in serving as your state’s GMC qualifier, you’ll be able to submit a qualifier application later this month. More details will be announced about the GMC regional qualifiers on March 15th.
