Lead Operator The person in this role plans, manages and coordinates small municipal or industrial water and/or wastewater O&M projects. Leads all aspects of facility operations to include; laboratory, operations and maintenance activities. Directly responsible for Project P&L. Manages the technical and financial performance of the project at the lowest achievable cost consistent with overall business objectives.
Requirements: Over five years progressive experience within a water /wastewater treatment environment with thorough knowledge of the methods, techniques, principles, and practices of water/wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection. Proven track record of effectively managing projects on time and within budget. VT Grade 2 minimum wastewater operator certification required or obtainable within 6 months from date of hire. If from another state, must achieve certification within one year of date of hire. VT Class 4B minimum water system operator certification required or obtainable within 6 months from date of hire. If from another state, must achieve certification within one year of date of hire.
O&M Tech I The person in this role will operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in site facilities to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements.
Requirements: Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions). Must be able to obtain the VT Grade 2 wastewater certification and VT Class 4B water certification within one year or as approved by the Chief Operator. Must be able to serve rotational on-call and weekend assignments. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. The employee filling this entry level position will work under the direct supervision of more senior operators, but must be able to work independently when performing a variety of manual functions.
