It started snowing this morning and we have already received an inch of accumulation. The forecast is calling for a storm total of up to 7 inches of new snow by Sunday night. The forecast is also calling for colder temperatures tonight and we plan to resume snowmaking. The Sterling Lift is operating today with 4 intermediate trails open.
Well, we ended up with 3 inches of new snow today on top and more is in the forecast. We are expecting another 6 inches of accumulation by Sunday night. I did not want to leave the mountain this afternoon because it was snowing hard and every run just got better. We are planning to make snow tonight on Smugglers’ Alley and Thomke’s Express. The colder temperatures that are in the forecast for this weekend will allow our snowmakers to have snowguns running top to bottom. Ski Patrol will be checking the trail conditions first thing tomorrow morning to see if we can open some more terrain. Tomorrow we plan to have the Sterling Lift operating and 4 trails open. All 4 trails will be groomed tonight for a grand total of 16 acres.
