Lifts and Trails
Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We have 71 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. 33 trails have been groomed for today, including Dan’s Ford, Snow Snake, and Jolly Rodger for a grand total of 129 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
Snowmaking
We are presently making snow on Bootlegger, Thomke’s Express, Snake Bite, Full Nelson, and Hangman’s Drop. Full Nelson, Bootlegger, and Snake Bite will be closed today due to snowmaking.
Weather
Currently it is sunny and -8 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with temperatures between -5 and +14 degrees. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling snow mostly before 2 pm with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible and temperatures between 2o and 30 degrees. A big storm is brewing for Saturday night into Sunday with over a foot of fresh snow predicted.
