We just opened 24 trails today

Bird’s eye view of powder riding

Today was fabulous with 9 inches of dense snow overnight topped with another 3 inches of lighter snow during the day. The lower angle trails were my favorite today because you could float on top. You don’t have to speed check as much and you can just make big gentle turns. I can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow.

Lifts and Trails

Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We now have 72 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depth of 24 to 54 inches. 44 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, that’s 158 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Weather

Currently it is still snowing and 20 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a chance of light snow early then partly sunny skies with temperatures between 15 and 27 degrees.
