Wide open spaces

It’s wonderful that Midway and Meadowlark are both open. My office is in the Village and I enjoy skiing or riding to the upper mountains. I was riding the Madonna I Lift this morning and looked back at Morse Mountain. It was neat to see how far I had traveled in one run. My next run would be even longer. From the top of Madonna, I skied 3 miles back to my office in the Village. The commute was fantastic with great views and no traffic!

Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating, including Madonna I Lift. We have 26 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 18 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 77 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. We are presently making snow on Lower Chilcoot. Currently, it is cloudy and 23 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 30 degrees. The Nordic Center is open with 17 km of trails and 14 km groomed.
