Meet the Colum family. They have been doing a group photo each year by the Birches sign for the past 30 years! They have been coming to Smuggs for 33 years. It was very nice to meet you all and I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Hugh, Your timing was impeccable! Thank you for taking such great pictures at our depart. Were you a ski instructor previously? (I saw the other post) Liam my son started skiing at SMUGGS in 1989. My daughter started in 1994. Maybe you crossed paths.
Yes I was a ski instructor before I became the snow reporter. Your son’s name sounds very familiar I may have been his instructor back in 1989. It was very nice to meet you all!
WOW amazing stories. I have taking many families and friends to visit Smugglers’ Notch during the summer for several years now. We’ve had some wonderful experiences new and old. I learn paddle boarding! One of these days we will take the challenge to learn to ski and sled. The only winter sport we’ve experienced is snow tubing, nothing hard. I did these new adventures around my 50th. To me I wasn’t too old to try!

I just sent a video to Scott Clokey at Smuggs, as we started going prior to 1988 – sold our unit (much to our kids’ chagrin) and went back as a family this summer with grandkids. We repurchased the unit next to our original one and now our grandkids will get to grow up with it, too! 4 generations of Smuggs, and we look forward to creating many more special memories !
