Powder day

I want to give a big shout-out to our Lift Maintenance and Ski Patrol. Mother Nature handed us some crazy weather today. Early this morning the winds were howling with very little visibility. All the lifts were on wind hold, except Sir Henry’s Glider. The wind died down a little mid-morning and Lift Maintenance was able to get the Village Lift and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open. By noon they were able to get the Madonna II Lift and Sterling Lift open. The snow was coming down so hard today that chairs had to be cleaned throughout the day. Ski Patrol was busy opening trails, marking obstacles, and installing tower pads. It takes more work to open a trail than just dropping a rope! Thank you again for all your hard work.

We received 6 to 9 inches of new snow today. The new snow is pretty heavy and it was just what we needed. We have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. Tomorrow we plan to have 5 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Madonna II Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We now have 43 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 19 out of the 43 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Garden Path, Rumrunner, and Lower FIS for a grand total of 95 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 8 to 36 inches. Tonight’s forecast is calling for more snow another 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a chance of light snow early, cloudy skies with gradual clearing, and a high of 10 degrees at the base and 4 degrees at the summit. Bundle up and enjoy the great conditions!
