Smugglers' Notch Resort hosts Holiday Magic for families vacationing in December 2016
Families vacationing at Smugglers' Notch Resort in northern Vermont can create their own holiday magic as they enjoy a variety of special activities from December 16-25, 2016. The resort's Holiday Magic activities are designed for all ages and include cookie decorating, craft workshops such as sock puppet making and snow art, themed family challenge races and bedtime stories with holiday elves. Santa will join children on Saturday around the resort's village bonfire for complimentary hot chocolate and cookies. A weekly Winter Carnival features music, food, games and the thrill of watching an ice carving specialist unveil a masterpiece. A torchlight parade and fireworks follow the carnival.
For recreation during their visit, families can explore Smugglers three interconnected mountains with terrain for all levels of skiers and riders. The resort's Snow Sport University expertly instructs children (3-17) and adults in alpine and telemark skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. An extensive menu of activities includes daytime and evening snow tubing, guided snowmobiling, swimming in the indoor pool, and enjoying a craft or wellness class. A year-round zip line canopy tour offers breathtaking views on a thrilling mountainside descent between tree platforms on zip lines, suspension bridges and rappels.
Smugglers' four family vacation packages provide choices for every budget and winter recreation interest. Each package features the amenities and programs that Smugglers' guests have always valued as inclusions: mountainside condominium lodging, lift tickets, snow tubing, ice skating, use of the indoor pool and hot tub, and family and adult entertainment. Three packages support skiers and snowboarders with varying levels of ski and snowboard instruction. These packages start at $129 per adult and $99 per youth (ages 3-17) per night. A fourth package, the Vermont Winter Experience, is available for Resort guests seeking a varied menu of non-skiing and non-snowboarding recreational choices and fun experiences. The Winter Experience vacation package starts at $159 per adult and $119 per youth (ages 3-17) per night.
Smugglers' stands by its commitment to families with a Family Fun Guarantee: each guest will have fun, learn to ski or snowboard or improve technique, no matter their current level of ability - novice to expert - or the Resort will refund the entire program portion of that person's vacation package. Family vacation programming at Smugglers' has received numerous accolades. Smugglers' was voted #1 Kid Friendly Resort in the Eastern US & Canada by SKI Magazine readers in the magazine's 2015/2016 survey.
