A little new snow for the weekend

3 Mountain Logo

We received an inch of new snow today and 7 inches in the past week. The day started with some freezing rain, which turned into snow. The temperature only dropped a few degrees during the day, but it was enough for precipitation to become snow. I went skiing this morning on Morse and Madonna. I enjoy skiing from the Village to the upper mountains and back. Ruthie’s is a nice cruiser with cool views. This afternoon, I went snowboarding on Morse, and the conditions were pretty soft. We plan to open more terrain and lifts this weekend. Tomorrow, we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 37 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 30 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Dixie’s Knoll, Chilcoot, and Smugglers’ Alley, for a total of 120 acres. That’s the most terrain we have groomed in a night all season. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable, with average base depths of 12 to 36 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 28 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of a snow shower, a high of 33 degrees at the base, and 30 degrees at higher elevations. If you were on the hill today, make sure to dry out all your gear for tomorrow! I’m looking forward to cruising on some corduroy in the morning.
