What a day!

3 Mountain Logo

We received 10 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 22 inches in the past 3 days, and 35 inches in the past week! The Madonna 1 Lift opened today with only natural snow. Robin’s Run, Freefall from the traverse, Upper FIS, Doc Dempsey’s Glades, Chilcoot, and Drifter were all open. The coverage was amazing and so much fun! I might be powder drunk at this point. I want to thank Mountain Operations, Lift Maintenance, and Patrol for all their hard work to pull off opening Madonna today. Tomorrow we will have the Sterling Lift operating with 24 trails open with terrain for experts and intermediates. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 44 inches. Last night we made snow on Lower Morse Liftline, Sir Henry’s, Howie’s Wanderer, and the Magic Learning Trail. Currently, it is cloudy and 25 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of some snow late in the day a high of 31 degrees at the base and 27 degrees at higher elevations.
