Vermont Specialty Food Day
Vermont Specialty Food Tasting
Weather permitting tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating. Windy conditions could put some lifts on wind hold tomorrow. Please check the report in the morning for the latest information. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 35 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, that’s a grand total of 141 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for periods of snow 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 36 degrees and windy. Currently it is sunny and 8 degrees at the summit of Sterling.
Food, Fun, Fog
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh.
FOOD. Today we had a Vermont Specialty Food Tasting in the Village Courtyard. There were samples of delicious food products made with ingredients from our Green Mountain state. Cabot Cheese, Barr Hill, Silo Distillery, Mad River Distillers, Mountain Grove Coffee, Good Mix Granola, Woodchuck Cider, Simmering Bone, VT Tortilla Co, It’s Arthurs Fault and Kimball Brook Farm, and many more. Even Billy Bob Bear was scrounging around for some nibbles.
FUN. On Thursday, it’s our annual FamilyFun Magazine Winter Carnival – FamilyFun Magazine, Carmex®, and Folgers® team up with Smugglers’ for this special Winter Carnival featuring music, face painting, games, a bonfire, and barbecue. The festivities are from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm on the Village Green! Always a family favorite hosted by Goodtime Charlie, Mogul Mouse, Billy Bob Bear, and the Friendly Pirate!
FOG. Oh yeah, I got some skiing in too. I had to deal with a little bit of Snoop Dog’s favorite kind of precipitation… drizzle… but conditions made it well worth it.
