We have 72 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 25 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Chilcoot, Black Snake, and Garden Path for a grand total of 107 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 12 to 54 inches. We will have spring conditions tomorrow. Currently, it is snowing and 29 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for rain with a high of 59 degrees and 50 degrees at the summit. Wear something waterproof and enjoy the mild conditions!

Spring skiing and riding yesterday followed by a powder day today! We received 4 inches of new snow overnight and 11 inches in the past 5 days. I had a blast playing in the drifts where the wind had moved the new snow on trails like Drifter. I also found some great turns in the trees where the snow was more like a fluffy blanket, like in the Alley woods and Poacher’s Woods. I was also lucky enough to get fresh tracks on Full Nelson. The calendar says spring, but I am not going to turn down another powder day before the season is over!

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. To paraphrase Mr. Rogers, “It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood.” With 71 trails open it was hard to decide what to ski first, but I really enjoyed my “double compression” run of Upper Drifter to Shuttle – that put the wind in me sails. I got to hang out with the 55+ Club, a group of 90 members who are “on the hill, not over the hill.” Club President Liam Kearney invited me to their regular Wednesday breakfast get-together, and to their season-ending lunch and awards ceremony. They’re just like kids with a few wrinkles and gray hair – age is just a number. Then I saw the usual assortment of characters in my travels. I hope your day was on the plus side!
