My son Hugh B and I went on a 3 mountain tour today. We were able to find some fresh tracks on each mountain. The 20 inches on new snow in the past 4 days made it a little easier to find the goods. The hard part was deciding where to go because everything is wonderful! The groomed trails are fantastic, but the glades are really hard to beat right now.
Lifts and Trails
We are 100 percent open. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have all 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 28 to 60 inches. 33 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Ruthie’s, Curley’s Cutback, and Snake Bite for a grand total of 141 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
Weather
Currently it is snowing and 14 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling partly sunny skies with a chance of snow showers late and temperatures between 16 and 29 degrees.
New Snow
We received an inch of new snow this afternoon, 33 inches in the past week, and 271 inches this season so far!
