That might have been the best day of the season

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe quality of the snow, the amount of the snow, and the already deep base depths made for possibly the best day of the season. The colder temperatures last night made the new snow light and fluffy. The light winds last night allowed the new snow to blanket the whole mountain. All I can say is that was an amazing day out on the slopes!

New Snow

We received 14 to 16 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 40 inches in the past 6 days, and 124 inches for the month of January!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALifts and Trails

We are 100 percent open with all 78 trails. Weather permitting, tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. It will be a little cool first thing tomorrow morning, so we plan to open lifts starting at 9 am.  Surface condition are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 28 to 60 inches. 43 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Ruthie’s, Snow Snake, and Thomke’s for a grand total of 156 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWeather

Currently it is partly cloudy and 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a slight chance of a snow shower, temperatures between -9 and +9 degrees.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
