It started snowing early this afternoon and the later in the afternoon the harder it snowed! We received 2 inches of new snow so far. This new snow is just what the doctor ordered. The new snow will insulate the older snow as the temperature falls tonight. This is going to make tomorrow another beautiful day on the slopes. Currently, it is snowing hard and 29 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow showers another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 17 degrees. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 48 inches. 23 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley and Thomke’s for a grand total of 94 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tonight we plan to resume snowmaking on Black Snake and the Practice Slope.
