Family fun on Morse

Today the temperature was a little warmer, so we shut down snowmaking for now. Our snowmakers have done a wonderful job of making the most of the colder temperatures that we had the past few days. In the past 4 days, we opened Sir Henry’s Learning Hill, Lower Rumrunner, the Magic Learning Trail, and Wanderer. We plan to open more terrain tomorrow with Lower Morse Liftline. It will be groomed out tonight, but it will have a delayed opening while ski patrol gets it ready for skiing and riding. Currently, it is cloudy and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow showers, and a half an inch of accumulation possible, but it’s coming down pretty hard. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 27 degrees. Tomorrow we plan to have Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. We now have 5 intermediate trails, 4 beginner trails, and 1 expert trail open at this time. All 10 trails will be groomed for tomorrow for a grand total of 38 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 18 to 40 inches.

Uphill travel is closed today. It will be open Monday through Thursday morning from 5:30 am till 7:30 am on Sterling snowmaking trails. You must be off the mountain by 8:00 am. Please park in Lot #3. Stay tuned for more uphill travel information.
