Crisp air and soft snow

We are expecting some chilly temperatures tomorrow morning. The Madonna I Lift will be on cold-hold Saturday morning, but we hope to have it operating in the afternoon. We plan to have the Madonna II Lift open by 8:30 am tomorrow morning. We plan to have 54 trails open tomorrow morning and 68 trails open in the afternoon. 26 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, and Playground for a grand total of 110 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 14 to 46 inches. Last night and today we made snow on Upper FIS, Playground, and McPherson’s. We plan to have all three of these trails open tomorrow. Speaking of snowmaking, we plan to start making snow at the Morse Highlands area on Sunday.

Currently, it is cloudy and -7 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 4 degrees.
