Morning groom

The temperatures last night were colder on top and warmer down low. It stayed below freezing on the upper mountains with an inch of new snow overnight. At lower elevations, it was above freezing most of the night. To provide the best surface conditions our groomers had to wait until the temperatures dropped below freezing. Morse Mountain lifts will have a delayed opening due to grooming until 9:00 am. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We plan to have 72 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Ruthie’s, Gary B’s, and Shire are closed until they soften up. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with base depths of 16 to 50 inches. 33 groomed trails for today, including Drifter, Dixie’s Knoll, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 140 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 24 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a high of 38 degrees.
