Short spring preview

We had spring skiing and riding today. It did not freeze overnight and the snow stayed soft. The sun was out with temperatures reaching almost 50 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow will also be spring like, but winter plans to return tomorrow night. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for sunny skies early with increasing clouds and a high of 45 degrees. The forecast for Friday night is snow showers with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible.

Tomorrow we plan to have 5 lifts operating, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, Village, Madonna I, Madonna II, and Sir Henry’s Glider. The Sterling Lift will be closed tomorrow, but we plan to have it open this weekend. We have 62 skiable trails and 38 lift-accessible trails open today. Surface conditions are spring conditions and machine groomed with base depths of 16 to 50 inches. 21 trails have been groomed for tomorrow, including Curley’s Cutback, Magic Learning Trail, Waterfall, Mulcahy’s Link, and Treasure Run for a grand total of 91 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Uphill traffic will be open tomorrow morning from 5:30 am till 7:30 am on both Sterling and Madonna. Uphill traffic is open on Morse tonight from 5:00 pm till 10:00 pm. All uphill traffic will be closed after 7:30 am tomorrow morning. The temperature will be falling tomorrow night and the surface conditions will be changing. We will need to do a good bit of grooming before uphill traffic opens again. We will keep you updated on when it will open again. Thank you for your cooperation.
