If you are looking for the Long Trail, it went that way.

The Long Trail is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States and is 273 miles long. The idea of a trail running from Massachusetts to Canada along the ridges of the Green Mountains came from James P. Taylor in 1909. One year later the Green Mountain Club was formed. Starting with only 23 members cutting of the trail began. The construction of the trail began in 1910 and completion was 1930. The trail covers many mountains like Stratton Mountain, Killington Peak, Mount Ellen, Camel’s Hump, Mount Mansfield, Sterling Mountain, Madonna Mountain, and Jay Peak. The trail is marked with white blazes on rocks and trees.
