Calm before the storm

There is a winter weather advisory in effect midday Saturday through early Sunday morning. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow mostly after 11 am with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible and a high of 24 degrees. Saturday night’s forecast is periods of snow with another 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible. We plan to resume snowmaking tonight on Morse Mountain. Tomorrow we plan to have 3 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift and Sterling Lift will open at 8:00 am both Saturday and Sunday. All 10 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, that’s a grand total of 28 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. Backcountry Basecamp will be in Parking Lot #1 with gear demos, avalanche education, and a huge raffle benefitting a local non-profit.
