Mountains of adventure and mountains of fun

We received 1 to 2 inches of new snow on top this morning. We had a little liquid snowfall earlier today at lower elevations. This afternoon we had partly sunny skies and spring conditions. I skied Upper FIS this morning with the new snow and it was wonderful. I skied it again later in the afternoon and it had small moguls made of corn snow. We have colder temperatures this weekend along with snow on Saturday night and Sunday with up to 6 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains, with 7 lifts operating, including Madonna I and Morse Highlands. We have 35 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 31 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper FIS, Smugglers’ Alley, and Snow Snake for a grand total of 126 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 6 to 40 inches. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 35 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of mix at the base and snow showers at higher elevations, a high of 43 degrees at the base and 34 degrees on top.
