Tomorrow we plan to open the Madonna I Lift at 9 am. There is only intermediate and expert terrain on Madonna. Tomorrow there will be 2 ways down Madonna Mountain to start. We plan to have Upper Chilcoot and Doc Dempsey’s Glades open. Doc’s is a natural snow trail and may not stay open all day. Upper FIS will be closed tomorrow due to snowmaking operations. As you are planning out your day, I just want you to know that there a is ski race on Sterling Mountain tomorrow with 200 racers. We also plan to have the Village Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Morse Highlands Lift, Madonna 2 Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Sir Henry’s Slider all operating. We are presently making snow on Upper Chilcoot and Waterfall. We received 2 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 10 inches in the 4 days. We will have 55 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 25 out of the 55 open trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper Chilcoot, Smugglers’ Alley, and Magic Learning Trail for a grand total of 105 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 6 to 26 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 31 degrees in the Village and 26 degrees at higher elevations.

The Nordic Center is open with 15 km of snowshoeing and 17 km of cross-country trails. The ice rink is also open.

This weekend the featured beer for the apres sports parties at Bootlegger’s and the Black Bear Tavern is Labatts.
