Sun today and snow tomorrow

Today was just gorgeous with bluebird skies and comfortable temperatures. I went skiing this morning on Madonna Mountain. Upper Drifter was groomed last night and it has some of the best views! I slowly worked my way down the mountain making sure to stop at all of my favorite scenic places. The clear skies made for some amazing visibility. The rime ice-covered trees were so vibrant against the bright blue sky. I love skiing and riding. The fantastic views that we get to take in while we slide down the mountain are definitely a bonus. Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. The only closed trail is Robin’s Run and it might open again tomorrow with the new snow. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 16 to 40 inches. 34 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Shuttle, Smugglers’ Alley, and Timberrr for a grand total of 136 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Upper FIS will be groomed for tomorrow on the skier’s right half from Catwalk down to the Doc Dempsey’s Glades cutoff. Currently, it is sunny and 23 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible, breezy with a high of 26 degrees at the base and 13 degrees at higher elevations.
