Somebody shook the snow globe

The forecast only called for 1 to 2 inches of new snow today, but Mother Nature had a different idea. We received 4 inches of new snow today and 21 inches in the past 4 days! Tomorrow, we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 69 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 38 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Shuttle, Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s Express, Snow Snake, and Hibernator, for a total of 147 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 14 to 40 inches. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with snow showers and an inch of accumulation possible, with a high of 28 degrees at the base and 20 degrees at higher elevations. Currently, it is cloudy and 7 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph.

  1. Hey folks, a couple of quick questions. I was told that there is a pretty easy blue run to get down Madonna: Mulcahey’s Link. Is that true, or are they thinking of a different trail? Is there even such a trail?? Also, any idea if The Zone terrain park will be opening up anytime? Thank you all for your hard work this season, it’s been a blast so far! Happy shredding!

    • Yes, Mulcahy’s Link and Lower Chilcoot would be good intermediates runs from the Madonna 2 Lift. From the top of the Madonna 1 Lift the easiest trail down is Upper Chilcoot. I will ask our mountains operations crew about the Zone. Thank you.
