Winter storm warning starts tonight

We could see 3 to 5 inches of new snow tonight. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow, heavy at times with 10 to 14 inches of accumulation possible, breezy, with a high of 26 degrees at the base and 25 degrees at higher elevations. Another 2 to 4 inches of new snow in expected for Saturday night also. We received 30 inches of new snow in the past week, so this storm is really going to be the icing on the cake! Tomorrow, we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 75 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 32 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Sam’s Run, Snake Bite, and skier’s right on Upper FIS, for a total of 125 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions will be powder and packed powder with average base depths of 14 to 40 inches. Birch Run and Knight’s Revenge Terrain Park are both open. Currently, it is sunny and 14 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Rest up, Smugglers; it’s going to be another powder day tomorrow!
