Best Kept Secrets

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. If you’re looking to change things up from the downhill scene – our Nordic Center has incredibly scenic and serene trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing (if you can walk, you can snowshoe). They offer rentals and lessons as well. You’ll need your SmuggsPass or Daycation Ticket to access the extensive trail network. Note to employees: there is no red flag policy at Nordic.

Meanwhile on the Upper Mountains when the Sterling lift gets busy, the Madonna II lift is often a good alternative. Hush, hush, mum’s the word. No lift line today as I took my first turns of the year on a fog-covered Madonna Mountain – on Mulcahy’s Link and Lower Madonna Liftline.

Below is the top secret, on a need-to-know basis hideout for our SSU Instructors in the Village. If I told you where it is, you’d have to ski down Pirate’s Plank on one ski (not sure what’d happen to snowboarders). Notice the social distancing. What isn’t a secret is how much experience and knowledge they have, and wouldn’t you know – they’re darn friendly too.
