Today is the last day of the 20/21 winter season
Today is the last day of the 2020 / 2021 Winter season. We have the Sterling Lift and Madonna I Lift operating. We have 18 trails open with terrain for intermediate and expert only. Be aware of thin cover and bare spots. Some walking may be required on some trails later in the day. Surface conditions are machine groomed and spring conditions with average base depths of 0 to 24 inches. 15 trails have been groomed for today, including Chilcoot, Practice Slope, and Treasure Run for a grand total of 50 acres of freshly groomed terrain. It is currently partly sunny and 50 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Today’s forecast is calling for skies becoming mostly sunny with a high of 74 degrees at the base and 62 degrees in the upper elevations.

It’s a spring thing
Tomorrow is the last day of the 2020 / 2021 Winter season. We plan to have Sterling Lift and Madonna I Lift operating. We plan to have 17 trails open with terrain for intermediate and expert terrain only. Surface conditions are machine groomed and spring conditions with base depths of 6 to 38 inches. 15 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Black Snake, Practice Slope, Chilcoot, and Birch Run for a grand total of 50 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Rapidly melting snow may require some walking on a few trails late in the day. It is currently sunny and 60 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 73 degrees at the base and 62 degrees in the upper elevations.

Today we have Sterling Lift operating with 10 trails open. Bootlegger is open for now from Smugglers’ Alley. We only have intermediate and expert terrain available at this time. Surface conditions are machine groomed and spring conditions with average base depths of 6 to 38 inches. 8 trails have been groomed for today, including Black Snake, Practice Slope, and Birch Run for a grand total of 38 acres of freshly groomed terrain. It is currently sunny and 59 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 73 degrees at the base and 62 degrees in the upper elevations.

Sat, Apr 10th – Last Day of 20/21 Lift Ops
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. We had hoped to maintain Lift Operations through Sunday, April 11th, but the snow is melting so quickly that Closing Day has been moved up to Saturday. On Friday, we’ll determine if Sterling and/or Madonna I will be running. So, don’t hesitate to take those last runs of the season.

Conditions permitting, we hope to have both Sterling & Madonna Lifts running this weekend!
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. Sterling Lift will be operating today with 13 trails open (10 intermediate and 3 expert). 9 trails have been groomed including Smugglers’ Alley and Black Snake. Some trails may have a delayed opening until they soften up. Madonna is closed to uphill traffic today.
Yesterday was a great day for spring skiing! I got to make some turns with my friend Brendan and have lunch at the Black Bear. Today is shaping up to be the same. If you can, get out and enjoy it.
