The month of March has been quite the snow producer with 78 inches. We have been in a fantastic weather pattern! I went out this morning with Alex Martin of Smuggs TV and Snow Sport University Snowboard Instructor Kim Martin to film another edition of the No Bull Video Snow Report. We had a great time on Upper Pipeline, Black Snake, Harvey’s Hideaway, Full Nelson and Half Nelson. Later in the day I meet up with my good friends Tony, Big John, and Lenny. We skied Sally’s Alley, Freefall, Black Hole, Upper Drifter, and a bunch of glade runs in between. The smiles were big and the snow is deep!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe are 100 percent open with top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating. We have all 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 39 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper Drifter, Smugglers’ Alley, and Snow Snake for a  grand total of 141 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tonight’s forecast is calling for periods of snow with 2 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for flurries and snow showers and another inch of accumulation possible with a high of 24 degrees.

Fresh tracks on Upper Exhibition

We received 8 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 24 inches in the past 4 days. All the new snow made it easy to talk my son Hugh B into getting up early. He came to work with me this morning and we were the second chair on Sterling. One of his favorite trails is Exhibition and he likes it even more with fresh snow! It has not been windy during all the snowfall, so the snow is a nice consistent blanket of fluff.  It did not matter where you went because it was all good!

We have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We have 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 39 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper Drifter, Harvey’s Hideaway, and Curley’s Cutback for a grand total of 145 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Fresh and deep

Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with increasing clouds and temperatures between 23 and 35 degrees. The increasing clouds are the beginning of the next snow storm.  We could see up to 4 more inches of snow Monday night into Tuesday.  There is snow in the forecast right through Thursday.

Big ole’ daffy

Wow what a day it was! We received 5 inches of new snow overnight and 9 inches in the past 3 days. My first run of the day was Upper FIS. It was groomed last night and it had a beautiful blanket of fresh snow on top of the corduroy. I had to tell to you that stopping to take pictures took a great deal of discipline. All I wanted to do was to keep floating through the powder!

Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We now have 74 trails open with terrain for all ability levels.
