Bees, Trees, & Golden Moments at Golden Dog Farm
If you’re curious about how Vermont organic maple syrup and raw honey are made, this family-friendly farm tour is a must-do! Just a short drive from Smugglers’ Notch and Stowe, the Bees and Maple Trees Tour at Golden Dog Farm has become a vacation favorite for visiting families. This two-mile, two-hour walking tour winds through our vibrant farm landscape—past maple trees and buzzing apiaries, historic buildings from the 1700s, lush vineyards, orchards full of apples, pears, and stone fruits, plus rows of berries and nut trees. Along the way, you’ll learn about beekeeping, syrup making, winemaking, and more—and one (or both!) of our sweet golden retrievers may tag along. We wrap up with a cozy tasting of our small-batch maple syrup and raw honey. For guests who prefer not to walk, we offer a six-person golf cart option for an additional fee, perfect for those with mobility needs.
The Bees and Maple Trees Farm Tour offers a fun, hands-on look at life on Golden Dog Farm. You’ll see how maple syrup is made in our sugarbush and sugarhouse, visit two apiaries—one traditional and one Slovenian-style—and learn all about beekeeping. Along the way, you’ll explore five historic buildings from the 1700s, walk through our vineyard and orchards, and check out berry patches, nut trees, and more. The tour ends with a tasting of our small-batch maple syrup and raw honey—a sweet way to wrap up your visit!
