Fall Mountain Bike Programs at Smuggs

Autumn has to be the nicest time of the year to mountain bike in Vermont! The air is getting cooler, the leaves are starting to turn and the trails are in great shape and ready to ride! The Smugglers' Notch region offers some of the best mountain biking in Northern New England with over 100 miles of great single track within an easy drive.

Mountain Bike Park
Friday - Sunday, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm
Situated on over two acres of prime terrain, the MTB park features a flat ground skills park, a new large pump track,
and a downhill skills park that has a beginner flow trail, an intermediate flow trail, a progressive skills trail and jump
line, and a switchback trail. Sessions, clinics, and private lessons available.

MTB Bike Shop
Friday-Sunday, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm
With a selection of over 60 bikes to rent from, our team will find the perfect bike for you. We offer bikes for all ages
and sizes, starting with strider bikes (pedal-less) for your little ones and running up to full size bikes. We offer road
bikes, mountain bikes for cruising around the village, mountain bikes for trail riding, and high-end full suspension
bikes. The Smuggs Bike Shop also has a full service mechanic that can offer bike repairs and replacement parts. We are also the hub for your equipment, apparel, and branded merchandise needs. Come see us for rental, repairs, great gifts, and bike gear!

Hire a guide to explore what Northern Vermont mountain biking has to offer. Explore our expanding trail network, or make a plan to travel to nearby destinations. We are happy to suggest some of the most popular and enjoyable spots to ride in the area including some of the best singletrack in Vermont. Your guide will lead the way through the lush green forests and beautiful open fi elds of our stunning Vermont landscape offering tips along the way. Pick a destination that suits your ability level and interest! Tours available upon request and guide availability. $20 per person, per hour. (50% off rentals with tour)

MTB Skills Clinic
Ages 9 & older. By appointment.
These sessions are all about fun & progression! Join a professional coach to learn simple skills that will help you have fun Mountain Biking! Clinics focus on helping you learn what you want and include use of our skills parks which feature many elements like pump track, flow trail, rock garden, jump line, step ups, and many more. These tools help guests learn the skills needed to ride on our mountain bike trail network. Join a session and try it all! Tours available upon request and coach availability. $20 per person, per hour. (50% off rentals with clinic)

MTB Private Lessons
Ages 3 & older. By appointment.
The quickest way to improve your skill set is to hire a coach for one-on-one instruction. Whether you need to master the basics or are looking for a pro to ride with you and offer tips, our mountain bike professionals can tailor the experience to you and help you progress to the next level with your riding. $50 per person, per hour. Includes equipment.

For all Mountain Bike activities and programs:
Participants should wear appropriate clothing.
A helmet is required.
Water bottle, gloves and eye protection recommended.

Lamoille Valley Rail Trail
The Rail Trail is a new multi-use path, very bike friendly and perfect for the whole family. Running the length of the Lamoille River, this bike path is covered in crushed and packed stone, perfect for cruising on a bike. Treat yourself to a relaxing ride across the scenic terrain of the Lamoille Valley!
Stowe Bike & Recreational Path
Enjoy Stowe's bike path, a year-round, 5.3 mile paved recreational trail. The trail starts in Stowe Village, next to the Stowe Congregational church, winds its way through the woods and meadows, and crosses the West Branch River 11 times on arched wooden bridges. Numerous shops, lodges, and restaurants are accessible from the path. The map identifies bicycle rental shops as well as parking along the route.
