AppleFest at Smugglers' Notch Resort highlights the traditions of apple growing in Vermont. Wander an orchard to pick your own fruit during the height of the harvest season. Stroll the countryside on a guided walk. Learn about cider making and sample one of Vermont's delicious award-winning hard ciders. All ages will enjoy a selection of diverse activities enhanced with an apple theme!
Your AppleFest experience at Smugglers' includes the following, complimentary with your SmuggsPass*:
Daily, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Visit the Country Store for locally-sourced product sampling.
Wednesday - Friday 10:00 am: Apple themed story time and crafts for young children and their families at TREASURES nursery.
Wednesday, September 25, 1:00 pm: Complimentary shuttle provided to Chapin Orchard in Essex Center for pick-your-own fun. The Orchard’s barn store offers local honey, maple syrup, and apple goodies. Sign up at the Guest Service Desk to reserve your space. Meet your guide at the Gazebo on our Village Green. Valid SmuggsPass required.
Thursday - Sunday 9:00 am: Complimentary shuttle provided to local apple orchard for pick-your-own fun. Sign up at the Guest Service Desk to reserve your space. Meet at the Welcome sign at 8:55 am. 4 person minimum for shuttle to operate. Valid SmuggsPass required.
Friday 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm: Hard cider tastings in the Village Courtyard offered by Stowe Cider! In the event of rain, tastings will be held in the Village Center.
Saturday 11:00 am: Guided apple walk. A relaxing stroll for all ages through the local countryside. Spot the wild apple trees, and wrap up your walk with a “finish line” treat of fresh Vermont grown apples. Approximately 1.5 miles. Meet your guide at the Gazebo on our Village Green. Valid SmuggsPass required.
Delicious apple-infused menu items and specials at resort restaurants! At our Mountain Grille, start your day with the Apple Harvest Pancakes.For lunch or dinner, order a bottle of Vermont hard cider and try the Vermonter Flatbread, a grilled flatbread topped with apple chutney, smoked applewood bacon, spinach, Cabot Creamery cheddar and a house cheese blend, finished with a honey mustard drizzle. At the Hearth & Candle, savor the Apple Pie Martini and the Vermont Chicken, a breast of organic chicken stuffed with apple slices, ham and Cabot cheddar cheese, topped with a cider blush sauce. At the Perk in the Country Store, you’ll find delicious apple-inspired baked goods made locally.
