Our goal is to provide our campers, guests, and staff with a safe, fun, and enriching experience. We are waiting for additional guidance from the CDC and the Vermont Health Department. Expect an update by April 16, 2021

Young campers will explore the world of Smugglers' Notch in our Trail Blazers program. This all-day program combines active, challenging, fun physical activities. The campers will get to play many games, create arts & crafts projects, learn about nature, and more!

Trail Blazers Camp Activities
Ages 5 & 6 years
Offered daily: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Meeting location: The lower level of the Meeting House
Check-in time: 9:15 am - 9:45 am. Prior to 10:00 am camp departure, groups play games, ice breakers, and team building games.
Program cost: $95 per child, per day. Adventure Rangers daily program is INCLUDED with the FamilyFest Package and 25% OFF the SimplySmuggs Package.
Optional camp lunch program: $6.15 plus tax or bring a bag lunch.

Swim time, games, arts & crafts, hiking, snacks and stories. We try our best to group 5&6 year olds based on their age and energy level.

Monday — Nature Exploration with Professor Wrazen
Campers will hike through our special tike hike trail followed by a visit and exploration of our very own nature center. The campers will also get a chance to explore basics in tye dying.

Tuesday — Hike and Scavenger Hunt
Campers will explore our surroundings while searching for various items throughout our natural environment. Once they have collected all of their items they will create their own art project. They will also get to meet the creature of the week in the afternoon, presented by Professor Wrazen.

Wednesday — Hike with a picnic
Groups will be transported down to the Brewster River trail where they will get to hike the trail and enjoy a picnic lunch down by the river. They will also get to create a craft project during the day. We finish the day watching the exciting disc dog show with The 802 Disc Dogs.
Campers who do not bring their own lunch will need to order a bag lunch in the morning from their counselor.

Thursday — Adventure and Games
Trailblazers will get to explore various team games and challenges similar to what the Adventure campers are doing. In the afternoon campers will get an introduction to yoga.

Friday — Outdoor Adventure
Groups will head down to Bootleggers’ Basin for a day of fun activities! In the afternoon they will swim and do an art project at Bootleggers’ Basin.

Saturday & Sunday —
Trailblazer campers will meet at the Discovery Center adjacent to the Nature Center. Treasures staff will lead campers in craft making and indoor & outdoor group games. They will wade in Mountainside Lagoon and Turtle Slide, hike along our trails, visit the nature center and more.

Every Day Activities Sampling

Trail Blazers Camp Pool Time
Daily activities: Swim time, games, arts & crafts, hiking, snacks, stories, and quiet time. We try our best to group 5 & 6 year olds based on their age and energy level.

Water Play
Children who pass our swim test, can choose to join the swim group. Groups with non-swimmers will get a chance to enjoy Notchville Park’s Splashville Splash Pad and Mountainside Water Playground’s Turtle Slide and Little Smugglers’ Lagoon, where the water is 2½ feet deep and children are carefully supervised by counselors and lifeguards.

Arts & Crafts
Create wonderful projects using your imagination! Materials will be geared toward children's ages and abilities.

Nature & Hiking
Take mini-hikes and explore our forests, ponds, streams and brooks. Learn about the wonders of nature and interact with some of our creatures in the Nature Center.

Adventure & Games
Play field games and other team activities that will form bonds and build trust among teammates. Ultimately the group will be introduced to our low ropes course, which will thrill and challenge these young pioneers.

Snack Time
Groups will get a snack in the afternoon. There is a different snack every day. Check out our bulletin board, located in the entrance to the lower level of the Meeting House, for the current snack schedule.

Trail Blazers Program is licensed by the State of Vermont Social Rehabilitation Services to ensure the best programming and care possible for children ages 5-6.

How to find your child during the day: The best time to check on your child is at lunch time, which is 11:15 am in the Meeting House. The Guest Service Desk can also help you locate groups throughout the day.

All children must be picked up by 4:00 pm in the lower level of the Meeting House.

9:15 am - 9:45 am

11:45 am - 4:00 pm Afternoon activities (e.g., pool time, snack time, arts & crafts, and games)

Typical Child to Counselor Ratio 1:8. Arrangements can be made for children requiring more individual attention than with the above ratio for an additional fee.

Camp Program Lunch For your convenience, we invite your children to participate in our optional Children's Program Lunch at an additional fee of $6.15 per child, (ages 3-6) per day, plus tax.

• Sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes. NO SANDALS or Crocs allowed.
• Dress for an active outdoor day, including sweatshirt, light jacket or raincoat if needed.
• Please label all of your belongings.

Tennis Lessons for Kids (click for details)

Early Risers Clinic — Open to ages 5 - 8.
Young tennis enthusiasts, come explore the game of tennis with foam balls and fun play emphasizing fundamental skills and hand-eye coordination. Beginners welcome, equipment provided. This clinic will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
Tuesday & Thursday 9:10 am - 9:45 am. $19 per person. Advance registration required.
