Smugglers' canoeing and kayaking outings are great fun for all ages, providing opportunities to explore our local waterways, learn about natural habitats, and create great memories. Paddle the Lamoille River, search for wildlife, visit a local winery, distillery, or take an ice cream float featuring a sweet treat. Or simply enjoy the serenity of paddling with our professional guides, or renting a canoe or kayak to explore on your own.

All paddling adventures include basic paddling and water safety instruction and meet behind The Family Table Restaurant at VT Canoe & Kayak on Rte. 15 in Jeffersonville, unless otherwise noted. All participants must provide their own transportation to Vermont Canoe and Kayak. Actual river trip times will vary depending on the paddlers skill level and river current. This is a flat river with no experience necessary.
Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to sign a release waiver.
Canoe, Kayak, and Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Rentals & Shuttle
Ages 3 & up
Daily on the hour 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Explore the scenic Lamoille River at your leisure. Our guides will shuttle you upriver, launch you with basic paddling instruction if needed, then send you on your way. Feel free to take a picnic lunch, bathing suits, stop on a beach or just enjoy a relaxing day on the river. Single kayaks and SUPs - $40, canoe and tandem kayaks - $70. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A canoe can hold up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. Tandem Kayaks hold 2 people.
Kayaks and Cocktails
Ages 21 & Older
Sunday 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm

Paddle an hour and a half, work up a thirst, and end up at the Smugglers' Notch Distillery! At its new location they will serve up tastings of their quality award winning spirits. Bottoms up! $65 per person. Valid ID required for consuming alcohol.
Morning Maple Tour
Ages 3 & up
Tuesday 9:30 am - 12:00 noon & Thursday 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Combine an hour and a half morning paddle down river to the Maple Outlet in Jeffersonville where you will learn about the process of making maple syrup, see a live beehive making honey, enjoy a maple creemee or fresh Vermont Brown and Jenkins gourmet coffee, then take home a maple goodie! A pure and delicious Vermont treat. $60 per person. $30 ages 3-6.
Paddleboard Yoga
Ages 10 & older
Tuesday 10:00 am - 11:45 am

What better way to enjoy the art of Yoga than floating on a paddleboard on a beautiful, calm, serene pond setting in the mountains of Vermont! Practice traditional poses on the water as well as enjoy free time to Stand Up Paddleboard. Never tried either? No problem! This is geared toward all levels from beginners to advanced as you challenge yourself. $50 per person.

Ice Cream Float
Ages 3 & up
Tuesday 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

What could be a more relaxing and enjoyable combination than an afternoon family canoe trip with a special stop on the river for an ice cream treat! Enjoy one of Vermont's finest rivers and Ben and Jerry's finest ice cream. For kids and big kids at heart! $100 per canoe. A canoe can hold up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children whose combined weight is 150 lbs. or less.
Morning River Kayak
Ages 5 & older
Wednesday & Saturday 9:00 am - 11:00 am

An excellent start to your day. Your guide will take you down a 4.5 mile scenic stretch of river at a leisurely pace. You'll have your choice of single or tandem kayaks. This is a great opportunity for beginning kayak paddlers with little or no experience to enjoy the river. Kids 8 & up can paddle in their own junior boat. Kids ages 5-7 can try paddling in the front of a tandem kayak with a parent.$55 per person.
Water and Wine
Ages 16 & up
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm

Two tours in one - paddle the boat of your choice down the river to the Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge. Your guide will then take you from the river to the winery where you will be treated to a wine tasting, and a platter of cheese and crackers. $65 per person. Valid ID required for wine tasting.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to start of all tours. A canoe can hold up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children whose combined weight does not exceed 150 lbs. People in middle do not paddle. Tandem kayaks hold 2 paddlers only. Stand-up paddleboards are for one.
